Light returns to the darkness...

DEATH NOTE finally gets back on track with episodes 24 and 25! Light is, once again, Kira and quickly puts the rest of his plan into action. The way Light and Misa regain their powers, and Light works the situation in his favour, was brilliant; easily the best move yet made in this series! I found L's end a little odd, however; what was with all those seemingly meaningless scenes as his time approached? Still, Goth-Loli Misa acting as judge was pretty good, and with Light now free to do as he will with Ryuk, Rem and L out of his hair we could be in for one heck of a ride now!

Episodes 19 and 20 of Le Chevalier D'Eon were great viewing too. The conclusion of the England arc was quite dramatic, and it was a little sad to see Durand go, even if it were somewhat predictable. Not so predictable was Teillagory's betrayal! That twist came out of nowhere for me. This series seems to be acting more like a steam train than a rolercoaster of late, so there could be some pretty remarkable developments yet in store for us.

Episdoe 27 of Ojamajo Doremi was a bit of fun, with the new arc now starting in earnest. Oyajiide seems like a good addition to the cast, with the harsh reality of their quest falling down upon the girls. A good, fun episode with lots of what makes this series entertaining, it also showed that the new arc would not detract from what makes the series work; indeed, even though they have the quest, it is clearly not going to be a repedative string of `we found a Bad Item and fixed it' episodes.

Sugar Sugar Rune episode 25 was quite interesting too, as we seem to be moving out of the filler and coming back into the main plot of the manga. The Ogres and Noir are both introduced, while the dangers that Pierre represents are made more apparent, however, the hints of the truth are beginning to appear too. If this continues, Sugar Sugar Rune could grow into quite an entertaining series.

Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor continues to be entertaining with episodes 11-14. Despite some small moments where the mecha dominates, the series continues to have the same charm that its other incarnations exuded: top-rate character-driven comedy! The cast are really developing nicely now, and are playing off each other perfectly. I particularly enjoyed the episode of their drinking binge, where there was not a dull moment. Clearly the series has its moments where the action is a little too dominant, but so long as they do not increace too much this series should remain excellent viewing.
